With the game on Monday in Las Vegas, Lamb and Pickens decided to enjoy Sin City on Sunday night.
Per Calvin Watkins, Lamb told reporters on Thursday that he and Pickens missed curfew, which led to their benching. The wide receivers were having dinner and drinks at the Red Rock Casino, eight miles away from the team hotel, the Durango Casino & Resort.
Rumors began to spread on the internet that Lamb was found early Monday morning, throwing up at the casino. Lamb denied that report, saying he knows “how to hold his liquor.”
After Monday night’s win, Lamb, Pickens, or head coach Brian Schottenheimer did not reveal the specifics for their absence on the game’s first series.
“There were some things missed,” Schottenheimer said regarding the benching.

Despite missing the first series, Lamb and Pickens dominated in the Cowboys’ 33-16 win on Monday Night Football.
Lamb hauled in five receptions for 66 yards and a touchdown, while Pickens tied a career-high with nine receptions for 144 yards and a touchdown.
Lamb and Pickens have quickly become one of the league’s best receiving duos.
Despite missing three games, Lamb has 40 receptions for 557 yards and two touchdowns. Meanwhile, Pickens is having a breakout year with 58 catches for 908 yards and seven touchdowns.
This duo is powering an offense that ranks first in passing offense (258.7 yards per game), second in scoring (29.6 points per game), and third in total yards (378.7 yards per game).
If the Cowboys had more wins, quarterback Dak Prescott would be in the MVP race with 2,587 yards passing, 21 touchdowns, and six interceptions.
While the offense has thrived, the defense has struggled. Dallas ranks 30th in total defense (381.3 yards per game) and passing defense (249.9 yards per game).
The defense is starting to improve, especially up front, with the acquisition of Quinnen Williams.
Don’t look now, but the Dallas Cowboys are 4-5-1 and one game back in the win column of the No. 7 seed in the NFC.
The Cowboys’ next three games are against the Philadelphia Eagles, the Kansas City Chiefs (Thanksgiving), and the Detroit Lions. If the Cowboys can go 2-1 or 3-0, they will be firmly back in the postseason race.
