The USMNT got its World Cup campaign off to a perfect start on Friday as they hammered Paraguay 4-1 in Los Angeles.
Despite the scoreline, there was a bit of a scare when Pulisic exited the game at half-time.
He played great in the first half and was instrumental in the first two goals that saw USA well on their way to victory.
Pulisic helped set up the first goal by forcing the ball into the Paraguay box, resulting in an own goal from Damian Bobadilla.
The AC Milan attacker then assisted Folarin Balogun for the first of his two goals on the night.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side were 3-0 up by half-time and Pulisic was subbed off.
Many USA fans were worried about the health of the nation’s star winger but his substitution was just a precautionary in the end.
Pulisic was speaking to media after the game.
“I’ve had similar things before, and I’m staying positive. I don’t think it’s anything.”
While the Christian Pulisic injury update is a positive one, he’s still not certain to start vs Australia on June 19.
Who Would Replace Pulisic vs Australia?
Pulisic could be afforded a break after his slight injury suffered against Paraguay.
But there’s plenty of options for Pochettino and he could be replaced by a number of players.
Timothy Weah playes in a similar role to the ex-Chelsea man and could replicate his darting runs and creativity.
However, Gio Reyna will likely be itching to start after his incredible goal in the Paraguay game.
He came off the bench to score a terrific goal with the outside of his boot in second-half stoppage time, proving his quality.
