The Commanders absolutely gave away Monday night’s game against the Chicago Bears.
Washington had the upper hand late in the fourth quarter. However, the Bears recovered a Jayden Daniels fumble with three minutes left. The Bears proceeded to execute a nine-play, 36-yard drive to set up the game-winning field goal to give the Bears a 25-24 victory.
In his first game back since Week 3, Daniels threw for three touchdowns. However, Washington’s offense turned the ball over three times, including two by Daniels.
Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin might return from injury, which would provide the offense with a much-needed spark.
Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott would be in the MVP race if the Cowboys were over .500. Prescott is single-handedly keeping the Cowboys in games thanks to ranking second in passing yards (1,617), touchdowns (13), and QBR (79.2).
Prescott is doing this without CeeDee Lamb, who has been sidelined for three games with an ankle injury. There is a chance Lamb could play in this game.
Dallas’ defense, or lack thereof, is the biggest storyline in this game. The Cowboys rank 31st in DVOA, 31st in scoring defense (30.7), 32nd in pass defense (269.5), and 32nd in total defense (411.7).
The Cowboys have to win shootouts because they can’t rely on their defense.
So why would anyone trust the Cowboys to cover? Prescott owns this matchup. Prescott is 10-3 ATS against the Commanders, including 6-0 SU and 5-1 ATS at home. Prescott is the great equalizer that I will trust to cover.
Pick: Cowboys +1.5 (-112)
Commanders vs. Cowboys Prop
The Cowboys’ secondary could be in for a long day.
Dallas has allowed the most passing touchdowns in the NFL (15) through six games.
Even if McLaurin doesn’t suit up, Daniels should have no problem exploiting this weak secondary on his way to at least two touchdown passes.
Pick: Jayden Daniels Over 1.5 Passing Touchdowns (-115)
