Corey Heim Tops NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series’ Championship Odds; Layne Riggs Working Overtime

Spire Motorsports is giving NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series rookie Brenden Queen another shot during Friday’s Round of 8 finale at Martinsville Speedway.

Queen, the 2025 ARCA Menards Series champion, continues to expand his driving horizons.

Along with competing in three Xfinity Series events, the 27-year-old Chesapeake, Va., native continues preparing for his second Truck Series event Friday at Martinsville Speedway. Queen is slated to pilot the No. 7 Chevrolet.

Regular-season champion Corey Heim (-230) continues as sports-betting’s top choice to capture the drivers’ championship, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. Heim and Justin Allgaier have qualified for the Championship 4 race at Phoenix Raceway on Oct. 31.

NASCAR Truck Series’ Layne Riggs Preps For Martinsville

Layne Riggs earned what he needed last Friday at Talladega, placing P5 and remaining close to the transition line.

Riggs needs a bit more next Friday at Martinsville Speedway. Good thing he put in the work.

Entering the Round of 8 finale, No. 6-ranked Riggs trails No. 2 Rajah Caruth by 14 points, No. 3 Tyler Ankrum by eight and No. 4 Kaden Honeycutt by five and No. 5 Ty Majeski by one.

Riggs, who drew +440 odds to capture the circuit title, has been prepping for the Slim Jim 200.

“I’ve put in about six weeks at sim time at Ford Racing,” Riggs said, via FRM PR. “That’s the most time I’ve spent on a race track all year. That’s been the short track we’ve struggled at the most. So we’re going with something different than we have been with in the past and looking to gamble a little bit.”
