The situation between Micah Parsons and the Dallas Cowboys has worsened, leading to a new development involving trade options.
Cowboys Open To Trading Micah Parsons
Several teams have spoken to the Dallas Cowboys about a potential Micah Parsons’ trade and for the first time the Cowboys appear willing to at least listen, sources tell @toddarcher, @DanGrazianoESPN and me.https://t.co/e6M2AcGhnH

Jerry Jones, the Cowboys owner and general manager, has remained adamant that he will get a deal done with Parsons. Jones said he offered Parsons a deal that would make him the highest-paid defensive player ever.
The rumored deal Jones offered Parsons was a five-year extension worth $40.5 million per season, with guaranteed money in the neighborhood of $200 million.
After Parsons requested a trade on Aug. 1, Jones implied that his star edge rusher is under contract for at least three more years because of his rookie deal and the franchise tags.
“I have agreed to give more money than has ever been given in terms of guaranteed money than anyone ever has as far as a defensive player. I’ve done that,” Jones said via Cowboys.com. “Now, I am the cat that writes the check. Micah’s got three years with the Cowboys left… at some point, somebody has to have the say over the other. At some point, it has to be that way.”
With the Cowboys’ season opener against the Eagles on Sept. 4, Jones is now exploring all of his options, including a trade.
Per ESPN, several teams have called the Cowboys about a Parsons trade, and Dallas is “willing to at least listen” to offers.
No trade is “imminent,” but a team could be “aggressive enough” to put it together quickly.
The Cowboys have not made any contract offers to Parsons since the trade request. Per ESPN, David Mulugheta, Parsons’ agent, has not countered with any offers for his client.
Teams That Should Trade For Micah Parsons
Parsons is an absolute gamewrecker.
Since being drafted by the Cowboys in 2021, Parsons has recorded at least 12 sacks in each of his four seasons.
At age 26, Parsons is only hitting his prime and could be the cornerstone of a defense for years to come.
Teams looking for one piece to get them over the hump should inquire about Parsons.
The Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens are two win-now teams that should facilitate a deal for Parsons. Both teams have two star quarterbacks who can win the Super Bowl. They have a Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City Chiefs problem.
Parsons could be the difference-maker that propels the Bills or Ravens to the Super Bowl.
The Green Bay Packers are another rumored team that could be in the market for Parsons. Jones may not want to help out the Packers, considering Green Bay destroyed the Cowboys in the Wild Card Round of the 2023-2024 playoffs.
Still, Green Bay has the right amount of valuable picks and young talent to entice the Cowboys into a trade.
