Los Angeles Rams players Davante Adams and Jimmy Garoppolo are on better terms since they last played together in Las Vegas.

Adams was one of the stars of Netflix’s Receiver, a 2024 documentary series that followed the league’s top pass catchers during the 2023 season.
Adams played for the Las Vegas Raiders in 2023. Adams’ quarterback was Jimmy Garoppolo, who signed a three-year, $67.5 million contract during the previous offseason.
Garoppolo and Adams could never get on the same page. During one of the Raiders’ games, a visibly frustrated Adams vented on the sidelines about the amount of punishment his body was taking that season. Part of that had to do with Garoppolo’s poor throws.
“I gotta get the f— outta here before I lose my f—— life,” Adams said on the sidelines. “I ain’t never been hit this man f—— times in my career. Every game, I get f—– up.”
Adams finished the 2023 NFL season with 103 catches for 1,144 yards and eight touchdowns. Garoppolo only started six games (3-3) that season and was eventually benched in favor of Aidan O’Connell.

After spending the second half of last season in New York, the Jets released Adams in March. The 32-year-old receiver then signed a two-year, $44 million deal with the Los Angeles Rams.
Garoppolo is now in his second season with the Rams as the backup quarterback for Matthew Stafford.
It’s a reunion for Adams and Garoppolo, their first time together since that 2023 season. Despite his past feelings, Adams says things are good between him and Garoppolo. The All-Pro receiver blamed the situation, not Garoppolo, for his resentment on the Raiders.
“It’s amazing,” Adams told ESPN LA’s Sedano & Kap about playing with Garoppolo on the Rams. “I love Jimmy. It was never a personal thing, and I was hoping we didn’t have to have these [conversations] — I’m surprised this is the first time it’s been brought up. It’s been amazing. We got to catch up and get on the right page.
Obviously, that was just a dark moment in all of our lives. I think all of us were pretty miserable over there. And we kind of caught up and laughed about it and we’ve been making plays since we’ve been out here, so it’s been fun.”
Adams’ numbers continue to look like an elite receiver. He has five consecutive seasons of at least 1,000 yards and eight touchdowns.
Adams will look to fill the No. 2 receiver role left by Cooper Kupp, who signed with the Seattle Seahawks this offseason. Sean McVay is hoping Adams, Puka Nacua, and Matthew Stafford form one of the game’s best trios.
