Taylor Townsend and Katerina Siniakova

Tennis fans need to get their coffee ready and wake up early for a 7:30 AM EST thrilling Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships women’s doubles final with Taylor Townsend and Katerina Siniakova taking on Jelena Ostapenko and Su-Wei Hsieh on Saturday, February 22, 2025.

This is a rematch of last month’s Australian Open when Townsend and Siniakova defeated Ostapenko and Hsieh in three sets.

Townsend and Siniakova are the reigning Wimbledon champions. They began playing together early last year after Siniakova won the Dubai title with Storm Hunter.

Katerina Siniakova Is The Best Current Doubles Player

Katerina Siniakova is a legendary doubles partner and one-half of the Czech Republic duo with Barbora Krejcikova who won seven Grand Slams and the 2020 Tokyo Olympic gold together.  She also won the 2024 French Open with Coco Gauff and the 2024 Paris mixed doubles gold medal with Tomas Machac.  Siniakova has 29 career doubles titles.  The 28-year-old is the best doubles player on the WTA Tour right now.

Taylor Townsend Is The Best American Woman Doubles Player

To be considered an outstanding doubles player, the woman has to win with different partners.  Townsend played two Grand Slam finals with different partners, the 2022 US Open with Caty McNally and the 2023 French Open with Leylah Fernandez.  Townsend has eight career titles, three are at Adelaide International with three different partners.

Jelena Ostapenko Is The Most Versatile Player

Ostapenko is the only one of the four to win singles and doubles Grand Slam titles.  She has eight singles and ten doubles titles. Ostapenko was a finalist at last week’s Doha Open.

The Outstanding Su-Wei Hsieh Wins The Longevity Award

39-year-old Su-Wei Hsieh has 35 career doubles titles including seven Grand Slams.  She won her first Grand Slam in 2013 at Wimbledon and her most recent one in 2024 at the Australian Open with Elise Mertens.

Hsieh was ranked World No. 1 in doubles in May 2014 and is currently World No. 10 in February 2025 with countless partners in between.
