The Philadelphia Eagles hosted the Green Bay Packers in the wild-card round.

Philly won 22-10. The Eagles’ defense suffocated the Packers. Jordan Love went 20/33 for 212 passing yards, zero passing TDs, and three interceptions. The Eagles sacked Love twice. No receiver for Green Bay had 50 or more receiving yards.

Saquon Barkley once again led the offense for Philly. He had 119 rushing yards on 25 carries. Barkley also had two catches and four receiving yards. Jalen Hurts tossed two passing TDs but only attempted 21 passes as the Eagles dominated the game and handed it off to Barkley. A.J. Brown was held to one catch and 10 receiving yards. Devonta Smith had four catches and 55 receiving yards. Dallas Goedert had four catches, 47 receiving yards, and a receiving TD. Jahan Dotson had one catch, 11 receiving yards, and a receiving TD. Jake Elliott went 3-3 in field goal attempts but missed an extra point.

This was a typical Eagles win but there is cause for concern in the pass game.

Below, we discuss whether the Eagles are legit Super Bowl contenders or if their lack of a passing game will come back and haunt them.

Are The Eagles Legit Super Bowl Contenders?

The Philadelphia Eagles have a top notch defense and run game. This is a recipe for success in the NFL. Defense and run game travel if/when they have to play on the road.

Philly ranked first in the league in points allowed per game. They ranked second in rushing yards per game, behind Saquon Barkley and Jalen Hurts.

One thing that must improve if they fall behind in a game is their pass attack. Jalen Hurts has not needed to air it out much as the Eagles have been up most of the time behind an excellent run game and tough defense.

However, if they have to face Detroit, the Lions have an elite offense that can score points on any team. If the Eagles fall behind, they must air it out more, which they have not been able to do with great success this year.

A great run game and defense is a recipe for success in the playoffs. The only cause for concern is the pass game if the Eagles fall behind in a game.

Still, despite the lack of a pass attack, the Eagles are legit Super Bowl contenders.
