Former Detroit Pistons guard Malik Beasley and his agent, Brian Jungreis, addressed a recent report that Beasley has been in advanced talks to join EuroLeague club Partizan Belgrade.
Malik Beasley, Partizan Not Close To A Deal
Jungreis confirmed to Colin Salao of Front Office Sports that there have been contract talks with the Serbian team, but an agreement between the club and the nine-year NBA veteran isn’t close.
“These are exaggerated reports,” Jungreis said. “We had conversations and some framework, but nowhere close to anything closing or happening for the moment.”
Beasley, 29, has yet to sign a deal with an NBA team or a European club as he awaits the resolution of the federal and NBA investigations over illegal gambling allegations.

Jungreis reportedly told Salao that Beasley wouldn’t accept any contract offer overseas that didn’t give him an exit clause to pursue an NBA opportunity.
“The report of no NBA out (on a deal with KK Partizan) is 100% inaccurate,” Jungreis added. “We’d never not have that in the case he were to play anywhere else than the NBA.”
Beasley himself also rejected the report during a Twitch stream on Monday.
“I’m not going to Serbia,” Beasley said. “Make sure all you motherf—kers know that. I’m not coming.”
Beasley Remains Under Federal Investigation
Beasley’s attorney, Steve Haney, told ESPN’s Shams Charania in August that Beasley was no longer the target of the federal gambling investigation conducted by the Eastern District of New York.
“Months after this investigation commenced, Malik remains uncharged and is not the target of this investigation,” Haney said. “An allegation with no charge, indictment, or conviction should never have the catastrophic consequence this has caused Malik. This has literally been the opposite of the presumption of innocence.”
While Beasley is no longer the target of the federal gambling probe, he’s still a “subject” of the inquiry, meaning the former first-rounder has not been cleared.
Beasley, who finished second in voting for the NBA Sixth Man of the Year award last season, appeared in all 82 games (18 starts) in 2024-25, his first campaign with the Detroit Pistons.
He averaged 16.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 27.8 minutes per contest while shooting 43% from the field and a career-best 41.6% from beyond the arc.
Per Basketball Reference, Beasley made 319 3-pointers, the most in a season in Pistons franchise history and the second most in the NBA behind Minnesota Timberwolves star guard Anthony Edwards.
