March Madness 2025: Five NBA Prospects To Watch During The Sweet 16

Given the prevalence of power-conference schools participating in the 2025 March Madness Sweet 16, there are plenty of NBA prospects to keep an eye on during this year’s action. We know about Duke’s Cooper Flagg and his status as the projected no.1 overall pick come late June, but what about the others?
NBA Prospects To Keep An Eye On In The Sweet 16
We take a look at five future NBA players that will be taking part in this weekend’s action:
Egor Demin – BYU
BYU hasn’t had produced an NBA Draft pick since Jimmer Fredette in 2011, but that will change this year. Demin has a well-rounded all-around game that includes shooting, ball handling as well as passing, and is solid on the defensive end as well. He posted 11 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists in the round of 32 against Wisconsin, though he shot just 3-for-10 from the field.
Demin was a member of Real Madrid’s B team in 2023 before joining the Cougars. He was selected for the Big 12 All-Freshman team this year.
Khaman Maluach – Duke
Maluach has the makings of an elite NBA rim protector. He stands at 7’2” and moves well for his size, and is an interior lob threat who has a nice touch around the basket. There is a lack of counting stats on Maluach’s resume, though, and that is due to being a raw prospect. He didn’t start playing basketball until he was 14 years old, making him relatively new to the game.
But under the right coaching a tutelage, he could turn out to be one of the better defensive big men in the league in a few years.

Derik Queen – Maryland
His buzzer beater against Colorado State could be the highlight of the tournament thus far, but Queen is much more than a one-trick pony. He is one of the better athletes when it comes to big men in this year’s draft class, featuring a nice post game and polished footwork. But he does come with some weaknesses that keep him as a fringe lottery player, and will be looking to make a statement in this year’s Sweet 16.
Queen has averaged nearly a double-double this season, putting up marks of 16.2 points and 9.1 rebounds.
Boogie Fland – Arkansas
Fland is a former McDonald’s All-American and was one of the top college recruits this past year. He is a solid playmaker and a defensive pest, which will help garner attention from NBA scouts. But he lacks in certain areas, namely his finishing touch around the rim, as his struggles with his size could be an issue at the next level.
Fland averaged 14.2 points this season on a solid 34.3% shooting from beyond the arc.
Danny Wolf – Michigan
Wolf is a 7-footer who has the potential to be an impact player in the NBA. He has attributes that will translate well to the next level, including shot creating and ball handling, both of which are impressive for his size. But he is known to be a turnover machine, and a lack of athleticism on the defensive end could prove to be crucial in his scouting profile.
Wolf led the Big Ten conference in rebounding in 2024-25, and shot 33% from deep on 3 attempts per game.
