Future Super Bowl Locations & Stadiums For 2026-2028

The Super Bowl is one of the biggest annual spectacles in the United States. Drawing thousands of fans who come both for the game and the festivities during the prior weeks, the host cities benefit from the added tourism, and become the center of the sports universe in early February. This year’s Super Bowl will be played in New Orleans, Louisiana, which continues the warm-weather trend that we should see over the next few years.
Where Will The Super Bowl Be Played In The Coming Years?
The location of Super Bowls is usually determined three to five years in advance. At the moment, we have the next three host cities chosen, with the next two being played on the West Coast.
Super Bowl LX – 2026: Santa Clara, CA
Levi’s Stadium
Next year’s Super Bowl will be played in the home stadium of the San Francisco 49ers. But it won’t be played in the city of the team’s namesake, but rather 45 miles south in the city of Santa Clara.
Levi’s Stadium opened in 2014 and was built with the intention of hosting major events. Less than two years after the first 49ers game was played in the new confines, it hosted its first and only Super Bowl, which was in 2016, between the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers. In 2023, it was chosen to play host again, this time in 2026.
While it will be the second time that the game is played in that particular stadium, it won’t be the first time that the Bay Area has played host. Back in 1985, the 49ers played against the Dolphins in the Super Bowl, which was held at Stanford Stadium, which is about a 13-mile drive from Levi’s and located in Palo Alto, California.
Super Bowl LXI – 2027: Los Angeles, CA
SoFi Stadium
Two years from now, Super Bowl LXI will be played at SoFi Stadium, the home of both the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers. It will be the second time that the venue has hosted the event in the span of six years, which will likely be a repeated theme over the next decade-plus, given the city’s ability to sustain major events.
While it will only be the second time that the game will be played at SoFi, the greater Los Angeles area is no stranger to hosting the NFL’s championship. The only two cities that have played host more often are New Orleans and Miami, with 2027 being the 9th time overall. The first ever Super Bowl was played at the LA Coliseum, located just southwest of Downtown, and again six years later for Super Bowl VII. Then, between the years of 1977 and 1987, the game was played in Pasadena, California at the Rose Bowl a total of four times, and once again in 1993.
Los Angeles went nearly 30 years without hosting between 1993 and 2022.
Super Bowl LXII – 2028: Atlanta, Georgia
Mercedes-Benz Stadium
Mercedes-Benz stadium is one of the premiere stadiums in the country, and plays host to many major sporting events. The SEC Championship for college football is played in the building that was opened in 2017, and it hosted the College Football Playoff National Championship both in 2018 and 2025.
When the Super Bowl comes to town in 2028, it will be the second time that the venue has hosted the big game. It was played there in 2019 as well, in a meeting between the New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams.
But that wasn’t the only time that the city of Atlanta has hosted. It had taken place in the city twice before, in 1994 and 2000, but was played in the Georgia Dome, the old home of the Atlanta Falcons.
