In 2024, HBO introduced Hard Knocks: Offseason. The inaugural season featured the New York Giants. However, Hard Knocks: Offseason might end after one season.

Teams Do Not Want To Do Offseason Hard Knocks

Hard Knocks: Offseason was the first HBO series that followed a team during the months leading up to training camp.

Offseason focused on the Giants’ free agency and the draft.

After one season, the series might be coming to an end.

Newsday’s Tom Rock mentioned that the league is having trouble finding teams to participate.

“This isn’t a definitive report but in talking to league and media folks this past week it sounds like no team wants anything to do with an “Offseason Hard Knocks” this summer and it may be a one-and-done,” Rock wrote on X. “Hard to imagine why.”

The Giants Were A Disaster On Hard Knocks

Clearly, Rock’s “hard to imagine why” comment is sarcastic. The Giants became the laughingstock of the internet and the butt of every joke.

HBO’s cameras captured the Saquon Barkley free agency negotiations during the series.

Owner John Mara asked general manager Joe Schoen about Saquon. Schoen said the Chicago Bears were driving the price up, and the Philadelphia Eagles were out.

A disgruntled Mara rubbed his eyes and said he would “have a tough time sleeping” if Barkley signed with the Eagles.

Barkley signed with the Eagles, rushed for over 2,000 yards, and helped Philadelphia win a Super Bowl.

Hard Knocks: Training Camp will return this summer.
