After starting a career-high 77 games for Miami last season, Tyler Herro has been limited by injuries early on in 2025-26. He’s started just six of the team’s 36 games so far this season. Herro has missed the last 11 games due to a toe injury. Ahead of the Heat’s game on Tuesday vs. the Timberwolves, NBA insiders announced Tyler Herro is set to return.
Tyler Herro will be active for Miami on Tuesday when they face Minnesota
The 2025-26 season has been a battle for Tyler Herro to stay healthy. During an offseason workout, Herro suffered an ankle injury that required surgery. Herro had surgery on September 19 and was forced to miss the first 17 games of the year. On November 24, Herro made his 2025-26 season debut for the Heat. So far this year, Herro has appeared in just six games. After playing in six of eight games when he returned from injury, Herro suffered another setback.
In early December, Tyler Herro suffered a toe injury vs. the Raptors. That forced the 25-year-old to miss another 11 games for the Heat. It’s been a struggle for Herro to stay healthy this season. On Tuesday evening, the Heat starts a four-game road trip. According to NBA insiders, Herro is expected to return to action. The SG could have a minutes restriction vs. Minnesota.
Tyler Herro has only started six games for the Heat in 2025-26. In those appearances, he is averaging 23.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.0 steals per game. In this small six-game sample this season, Herro is shooting .405% from beyond the arc. If he can play at that level upon his return, the Heat could become a threat in the East.
Norman Powell has been holding down the top-scoring duties for the Heat. In his first season with Miami, Powell is averaging a career-high 24.2 points per game. Additionally, Miami has three other players averaging at least 16+ points per game in 2025-26. That includes Bam Adebayo, Andrew Wiggins, and Jaime Jaquez.
While Tyler Herro has missed significant time, the Heat have been trying to piece together their offense. They’ve been patiently waiting for his return. Herro was available to play on Sunday vs. the Pelicans, but did not see any action. Expect to see Herro on the court Tuesday vs. Memphis.
