Justin Fields may end up being one of the more attractive free agent quarterback options this NFL off-season. The crop of available players at the position doesn’t exactly feature a deep pool, and many will likely sign contracts that are of the one-year variety, mostly as stop-gaps or backups.
Given his young age and potential to still have a decent and productive career, Fields could be one of the few to find some long-term security this Spring. He certainly hasn’t lived up to expectations of being the 11th overall pick back in 2021, but he wasn’t exactly placed in the best situations in both Chicago and Pittsburgh.
Could The Titans Or Browns Sign QB Justin Fields?
Are we ready to have an adult discussion about Justin Fields from a value standpoint?

If the Steelers pass on bringing him back for a second season, where will Fields end up signing? Below are the teams that the oddsmakers think have the best chance of being his next destination:
Tennessee Titans (+200)
The Titans hold the rights to the first overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, though it is unclear if they’ll hold on to it and draft a quarterback. If they decide to either move down or select a player from a different position, then they’ll have an obvious need for a QB after the failed Will Levis experiment.
Justin Fields could end up being an option. It is unlikely that the rebuilding team would want to commit huge money on a risky player like Sam Darnold, who has a projected market value of roughly $40 million annually. Fields would only command about a quarter of that figure, and could likely be swayed by a 2 or 3 year contract, giving the signing team some flexibility.
Cleveland Browns (+300)
Deshaun Watson is still on the team’s roster and payroll, and only because of his insane contract stipulations (dead money). But it is well known that the Browns are looking to upgrade at the quarterback position this off-season, and will likely be big players on the free agent market next week.
Cleveland may be waiting another year to get their hands on a rookie quarterback that they can develop for the future, meaning that they’ll need a stop-gap in the meantime. Justin Fields could be in play, given his expected low price tag and potential upside as a 26-year-old.
New York Jets (+400)
The Jets are likely out of range to bring in one of the two elite quarterback prospects by way of the draft this year, which means they’ll likely have to dip their toes into the free agent market to fill the void left by Aaron Rodgers.
There have been plenty of names floated as possible candidates, including paying Sam Darnold big bucks in order to come back to where his career started. But the more financially responsible option would be to offer Fields a nice two or three year deal, as he could act as a productive stop-gap, at worse, until the team is able to find their younger option.
