Hendrick Motorsports teammates Kyle Larson and William Byron will “crossover” and alternate seats for Spire Motorsports during three upcoming NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series races.

“One of the coolest things of having a Craftsman Truck Series team is to have the crossover from Hendrick Motorsports and Hendrick Automotive Group,” Spire Motorsports co-owner Jeff Dickerson said, as reported by NASCAR.com. “We’ve had all their drivers in our trucks from time to time, and to have two guys in William (Byron) and Kyle (Larson), who have won races with us back in the seat, certainly gives the team a little more pep in our step.

“It also raises the bar for those races to win or bust. You don’t show up with those guys to do anything else but win.”

Larson, the 2021 Cup champion, is scheduled to pilot the No. 7 Chevrolet during the Baptist Health 200 at Homestead-Miami Speedway on March 21 and the Weather Guard Truck Race at Bristol Motor Speedway on April 11.

In three career Truck Series starts, Larson collected two top-five finishes and a pole position.

“I love racing at Homestead-Miami and Bristol, so I’m excited to add those Truck races to my schedule,” Larson said. “Hopefully, we can put on a great show.”

Byron’s turn will come during the event at Martinsville Speedway on March 28. Byron, who earned Spire Motorsports’ first-ever circuit race title, won at the 0.526-mile track in 2022.

Byron has more Truck experience than his teammate, winning eight events in 29 starts.

While Larson and Byron will not compete in the Truck Series’ driver championship race, Corey Heim (+220) was tabbed with the top sports-betting odds to earn the title, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. Ty Majeski (+300) drew the second-best odds.

The series remains idle until the Ecosave 200 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on March 14.
