Kyle Lowry Potentially Joining Amazon’s Coverage Of The NBA On Friday’s episode of Pardon My Take, Blake Griffin sat down for an interview with Big Cat and PFT Commenter. Griffin is one of the analysts joining Amazon’s studio show, NBA on Prime Video. The PMT hosts brought up Griffin’s new broadcasting gig, so the former 13-year veteran expanded on some of his colleagues joining him at the desk, including host Taylor Rooks and Dirk Nowitzki. Griffin surprisingly mentioned Lowry as a potential addition to NBA on Prime Video. “Kyle Lowry is going to be our — actually, I don’t know if that one’s been announced. Dammit,” Griffin regretfully said. After PFT said the Lowry news is now exclusive to Pardon My Take, Griffin clarified the point guard’s potential role. “He’s [Lowry] a player correspondent, maybe. Maybe in some capacity,” Griffin explained. “I don’t know. We’ve been talking about it.” Other former players and announcers joining Amazon are Steve Nash, Candace Parker, Cassidy Hubbarth, Dwyane Wade, and Udonis Haslem. Ian Eagle will be the lead play-by-play announcer. Michael Grady will also call games. Meanwhile, Kevin Harlan is negotiating a deal to be the streamer’s No. 2 play-by-play broadcaster. Amazon will broadcast NBA games for the first time next season thanks to the new 11-year media rights deal. ESPN/ABC, NBC, and Amazon are the NBA’s media partners going forward. TNT will no longer broadcast NBA games. Will Kyle Lowry Play In 2025-2026? Sixers mailbag: Best fit for No. 3 pick, Kyle Lowry’s return, and Nick Nurse’s responsibility in dismal 2024-25 season https://t.co/WGHFAaTKwl via @phillyinquirer #NBA #Sixers #NBADraft — Keith Pompey (@PompeyOnSixers) June 13, 2025 Notice how Griffin described Lowry’s potential role as a “player correspondent.” The 39-year-old will be a free agent and has not officially retired. At the end of the season, Lowry expressed a desire to play one more season with the Philadelphia 76ers. Lowry is a Philly product, having played in high school at Cardinal Dougherty and college at Villanova. Lowry has spent the last season and a half with the Sixers. While not much is expected of Lowry on the court, the veteran has been an important mentor to young players like Tyrese Maxey and Jared McCain. Having Lowry on the bench is an extension of Nick Nurse’s coaching staff. The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Keith Pompey wrote on Friday that “the expectation” is for Lowry to return to the Sixers.
