After eight years with the Browns, Garrett wants out of Cleveland.
“While I’ve loved calling this city my home, my desire to win and compete on the biggest stages won’t allow me to be complacent,” Garrett wrote in a statement. “The goal was never to go from Cleveland to Canton, it has always been to compete for and win a Super Bowl.
“With that in mind, I have requested to be traded from the Cleveland Browns.”
Last week, Browns general manager Andrew Berry said they would not trade Garrett even if a team offered them two first-round picks.
In response to Garrett’s request, AP’s Tom Withers reported that a Browns spokesperson said, “We aren’t entertaining trade offers for Myles.”
The former No. 1 overall pick is coming off a season where he finished second in the NFL with 14 sacks. Garrett is now the Browns all-time leader in sacks with 102.5.
Garrett still has two years remaining on his five-year, $125 million contract extension. However, Garrett has no more guaranteed salary.
After a 3-14 season and a major decision at quarterback, Garrett clearly does not want to be involved in a rebuild.

If the Browns trade Garrett, what teams will be possible suitors?
The Dallas Cowboys (+400) are the favorite to land Garrett per BetOnline. However, the Cowboys must sign Micah Parsons this offseason, making a trade for Garrett highly unlikely.
The Washington Commanders (+500) and Kansas City Chiefs (+600) are behind the Cowboys, though both probably would not give up major draft assets for Garrett.
Keep an eye on the Buffalo Bills (+1000). Moving assets to acquire Garrett could be the move that puts them over the top past the Chiefs.
