NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Boys and Girls Club of the Blue Ridge 200 Entry List: Dates, Event Times At Martinsville Speedway

Corey Heim flexed his muscles throughout the first two stages of Friday night’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
As the circuit points leader, Heim doubled up on the 10 stage points and totaled a race-high 78 laps led. Then, mechanical issues started developing, costing him speed and likely a trip to Victory Lane.
The No. 11 Toyota shut off on Lap 114, slipping from P1 to P3. Heim struggled to keep the machine fired up for the remainder of the race.
“About 15, 20 (laps) to go, everything seemed fine,” Heim told Fox Sports. “The engine would hard-cut on me and the dash would go black. I’d have to reach my right hand over and completely recycle the power to get any sort of life back in the motor. Probably the best truck I’ve ever had, it stings pretty bad.”
Kyle Larson, who competed in all three national series events at Homestead, took advantage and earned the checkered flag. He also won Sunday’s Cup Series event by using a deft driving strategy of riding the walls at the 1.5-mile oval.
Larson re-started 22nd with fewer than 40 laps remaining.
Despite the setback, Heim enters next Friday’s race at Martinsville Speedway with three top-five finishes in the circuit’s opening four outings. He also paces the circuit with two stage wins and 129 laps led, 90 more than the second-ranked driver, Tyler Ankrum.
