Running P11 on Lap 178, Christopher Bell scraped the Turn 3 wall at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The NASCAR Cup Series driver didn’t appear to be a serious contender for Sunday’s Ambetter Health 400.

Until the final lap, that is. Securing the event’s 50th lead change as Joe Gibbs Racing earned its first win since Bell earned the checkered flag last June. The plethora of race leaders established a track record.

“I am glad we don’t have to hear that: ‘Joe Gibbs Racing has not won since June,’ “ Bell said, as reported by NBC Sports. “I’m very happy to end that narrative.”

Transitioning from two season-opening drafting tracks to a road course, Bell opened the week with +1200 odds to capture next Sunday’s EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix at the Circuit of The Americas. Shane van Gisbergen (+500) earned the top sports better odds, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

Below, we’ll preview the top storylines heading into Sunday’s EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix, go over the odds, and give our best bets for the third race on the 2025 NASCAR schedule.

EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix Storylines

  • Ryan Blaney and John Hunter Nemechek remain the only drivers to secure top-10 finishes during the opening two races. Blaney enters Texas pacing the Cup points standings. Nemechek ranks No. 7, 26 points behind the leader.
  • After claiming one of the Cup Series’ closest finishes last season in the winter race at Atlanta, Daniel Suarez did not display front-of-the-pack power from the No. 99 Chevrolet, missing out on the most recent photo finish at Atlanta. He placed P33, taken out in a Lap 183 collision.
  • Brad Keselowski has a big goal in Texas. The No. 6 Ford driver wants to finish what he starts. He has been involved in accidents at Daytona and Atlanta. Entering COTA, he stands 33rd in points, posting just one top-10 finish in his past 20 road races.

EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix Predictions & Picks

Here are our best NASCAR Cup Series bets for Sunday’s EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix at Circuit of The Americas:

Kyle Larson (+1100)

Larson’s P3 and stage win at Atlanta silenced some critics. Perhaps the 2021 Cup champion is evolving as a draft-track racer. Despite earning three road-course wins over the past three seasons, Larson seeks to register his first top 10 at COTA.

Chris Buescher (+2600)

Buescher rides an impressive road-course streak. In his past 15 outings, he has compiled one win, four top-five finishes and 12 top 10s. Could Buescher, who has won at Watkins Glen, breakthrough at COTA?

Michael McDowell (+3400)

Why not? He won at the Indy Road Course and has remained accident-free through two starts this season.
