NASCAR Cup Series driver Kyle Larson utilized his team’s power to dominate Sunday’s AdventHealth 400 at Kansas Speedway.
Larson, who captured last year’s event by establishing a circuit record for the closest win (0.001 seconds), created a new track mark by leading for 221 laps and winning this third race this season.
With 469 points, Larson also moved into first place in the drivers’ standings, 35 points ahead of second-place William Byron.
One of Larson’s biggest obstacles Sunday came on the Lap 213 restart. Challenged by Joey Logano on the outside, the defending series champion edged in front of Larson as Christopher Bell made a run to make it three-wide racing. With Larson powering ahead, Justin Haley and rookie Corey Heim colliding with Erik Jones and Bubba Wallace.
By Lap 241, Larson extended his advantage to 1.93 seconds over Bell and eventually claimed his third win in 12 outings at the 1.5-mile track.
