That’s what Friday night’s NASCAR Cup Series qualifying session at newly-named EchoPark Speedway could have come down to. Reigning circuit champion Joey Logano and driver Josh Berry both turned the 1.54-mile oval, formerly known as Atlanta Motor Speedway, in 30.979 seconds. Logano claimed the tiebreaker based on points. Logano, who has one win this this season, ranked 10th in the drivers’ standings with 436 points, 187 behind pace-setter William Byron. Berry, who also qualified for the playoffs, ranked No. 16 with 354 points. Ryan Blaney, the 2023 Cup titleholder, finished 0.004 seconds behind the top duo. Qualifying complete, Logano beats Berry in a tiebreaker.
