NASCAR Cup Series driver Christopher Bell recognized a familiar situation developing late during Sunday’s EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix at Circuit of The Americas.

Last year, Bell and Kyle Busch battled for an advantage. They ended up getting into a post-race “conversation” after Bell spun out his former Joe Gibbs Racing teammate. During Sunday’s event, Bell found himself trailing Busch again. This time, however, he passed Busch without incident, en route to claiming the checkered flag for the second week in a row.

“That was almost deva vu from last year,” Bell told Fox Sports after the race.

Busch lost momentum with three laps to go, telling his team over the radio that the right rear tire “is done.” Busch remains winless in his past 60 Cup outings.

Rebounding from a DNF at Daytona, Bell has earned consecutive wins, sitting in a tie with Chase Elliott for fourth in the driver standings with 95 points, 11 behind circuit leader William Byron.
