NASCAR Cup Series Straight Talk Wireless 400 Odds, Predictions & Best Bets At Homestead-Miami Speedway

Following his first NASCAR Cup Series win in 53 outings, Josh Berry paid homage to his former boss, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Celebrating in the Wood Brothers Racing machine moments after crossing the start-finish line Sunday at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Berry declined to initiate an extended victory burnout.
Instead, he drove the No. 21 Ford around the track similar to what the current JR Motorsports co-owner did after claiming the 2014 Daytona 500. Berry, who often works on machines with crew members, wanted to protect the merchandise.
“I think back of Saturday night short-track racing, we wouldn’t have that type of celebration because you couldn’t blow the quarter panels up, blow the motor, tear the car to hell after the race,” Berry said, as reported by NASCAR.com. “That’s just kind of who I am. I did a little bit of one there at the end there, just kind of spun around a couple times.
“I’ve spent my whole life working on my own race cars, building race cars, got my #@@ chewed a couple times for doing burnouts when I shouldn’t and tore stuff up. I just want to soak in the moment.”
Entering next Sunday’s Straight Talk Wireless 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Berry (+4000) remained a longshot to win back-to-back events, according to BetOnline Sportsbook.
Scheduled to compete in all three National Series events at Homestead, Kyle Larson (+300) earned the Cup Series’ top sports-betting odds to earn the checkered flag.
Below, we’ll preview the top storylines heading into Sunday’s Straight Talk Wireless 400, go over the odds, and give our best bets for the sixth race on the 2025 NASCAR schedule.

Straight Talk Wireless 400 Storylines
- Is AJ Allmendinger beginning to build momentum after a slow start? His eighth-place finish at the 1.5-mile track was his third consecutive top 10 on an intermediate surface. Allmendinger, ranked 23rd in the points standings, compiled three consecutive top-eights at Homestead.
- Kyle Busch didn’t enjoy hometown cooking in Las Vegas. His visit endured one problem after another, beginning with a lost right-rear tire on Lap 113. He also incurred a two-lap penalty and lost time in the garage fixing the damaged No. 8 Chevrolet. He hit the wall again on Lap 242, finishing 33rd.
- Ryan Preece continues to impress in his new RFK Racing ride. Capped by outdueling Ross Chastain and William Byron, his P3 at Las Vegas matches a career-best. He earned a top-10 during last season’s event at Homestead.
