NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Slim Jim 200: Corey Heim Earns Top Odds

NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver Tyler Ankrum seeks to stand his ground during Friday’s Round of 8 finale at Martinsville Speedway. 

Ankrum enters the Slim Jim 200 race ranked No. 3 in the playoff standings, eight points above the transfer line. Corey Heim, who received the event’s top sports-betting odds at +130, according to FanDuel Sportsbook, is the lone driver to qualify for the title run at Phoenix Raceway on Oct. 31. 

Ankrum, who snapped a 130-race winless streak with a victory at Rockingham Speedway on April 18, qualified for the postseason the past two seasons, but has yet to compete in the final. In 10 previous starts at the 0.526-mile short oval track, the 24-year-old driver posted two top-five finishes and four top 10s. He placed P2 during the spring race at “The Paperclip.” 

“This is it,” Ankrum said, per MHR PR. “This is our last chance to lock ourselves into Phoenix. This No. 18 (Chevrolet) group has worked so hard all year long. Martinsville is going to be tough as everyone is fighting for those final spots.

“I am super confident that we will be able to fight till the end and stay in contention for a spot in the final four battle at Phoenix.”
