As Connor Zilisch continues his assault on the NASCAR Xfinity Series’ all-time and single-season records, Saturday’s Round of 12 event at Kansas Speedway features a few independent drivers who could challenge the playoff pilots.
Highlighting Monday’s Kansas Lottery 300 entry list, Truck Series regular Rajah Caruth will pilot the No. 17 Chevrolet and Brenden Queen, an ARCA Menards Series standout, the No. 11 Chevrolet.
Caruth will compete for Hendrick Motorsports’ team for the second time, marking his first Xfinity Series event since the 2023 Phoenix finale.
“I feel extremely excited and thankful for the opportunity and for me, I think about how much I’ve grown since the last time I was fortunate enough to drive a race car out of this building,” Caruth told HendrickMotorsports.com. “I believe my experience I’ve accumulated the last few years in the Truck Series, and my partial Xfinity stuff will put me right where I need to be to run up front and hopefully have a good race.”
With the Truck Series idle next weekend, Caruth, 23, will take a break from a playoff chase. He ranks 14 points above the cutoff line. In 10 career starts at Kansas, Caruth recorded a P2 during a 2022 ARCA race. Entering Saturday, Taylor Gray ranks No. 8 in the playoff standings, three points ahead of Nicholas Sanchez and Jesse Love.
