NASCAR Xfinity Series Fans Respond To Kyle Larson Claiming Andy’s Frozen Custard 300 At Texas Motor Speedway

Learning midweek he would replace injured NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Connor Zilisch, Kyle Larson overcame a Stage 1 penalty for an uncontrolled tire, two overtime restarts and 11 caution periods to claim Saturday’s Andy’s Frozen Custard 300 at Texas Motor Speedway.
Twenty-four of the 38 machines in the race were involved in an incident, establishing a series record at the 1.5-mile quad oval.
“There was a lot of survival,” Larson told CW. “It was fun.”
The 2021 Cup champion continues to dominate the circuit. Larson registered two wins and three top-five finishes in three outings this season. Dating back to 2018, Larson recorded nine wins in 17 starts.
“Thanks to JRM (JR Motorsports) for letting me come run this thing,” Larson said.
The win marked the fifth for the Mooresville, North Carolina-based organization this season.
Saturday’s event marked the halfway point of the Xfinity Series’ regular season. The circuit will be off until Charlotte Motor Speedway on May 23.

A case could be made that Allgaier could have won each circuit outing this season. After leading 99 laps Saturday, lapped car Kris Wright failed to hold his lane and took out the No. 7 Chevrolet. A Stage 1 winner has not gone on to win the race since Christopher Bell in November 2019 …

Allgaier, who appeared to have a machine to challenge Larson, was not happy with Wright, telling PRN: “We about got crashed by the same car right before the stop. He had a tough time holding a line, kept moving lanes and I tried going to the bottom & realized it was gonna be a bad situation. It was my fault ultimately, but it’s a frustrating way to end the day” …
