NASCAR Xfinity Series SciAps 300: Kyle Larson Earns Top Sports Betting Odds

There’s a reason why Kyle Larson appreciates the Bristol Motor Speedway. And why he expanded his weekend schedule to include Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series event.
Of all the national series venues, the 0.533-mile oval serves as the closest example to dirt sprint car racing. That’s the discipline Larson, a three-time Chili Bowl champion, started with as a California youth.
“To me, it’s the closest style to a dirt sprint car race although it’s a lot longer still,” Larson told HendrickMotorsports.com. “Just the intensity, the aggression, the fast-paced style of that race, I’m comfortable with. And, and I just love that track.
“I look forward to going there.”
Larson likes Bristol so much, he plans to compete in the Cup, Xfinity and Craftsman Truck Series events this weekend. The Xfinity race will be his second circuit race this season, following a top-five finish at Homestead on March 22.
Two-time Cup Series champion Kyle Busch remains the lone driver to complete a national series sweep during the same weekend and he did it twice at Bristol (2010 and ‘17).
In 17 Cup starts, Larson compiled one pole, two wins, seven top fives and 12 top 10s. The 2021 Cup titleholder ranks second among active drivers with 1,351 laps led.
During the Cup playoff event at Bristol last fall, Larson led 462 of 500 laps, the most by a Hendrick Motorsports pilot – ever. He visited Victory Lane the last time he competed in an Xfinity race at Thunder Valley in 2018.
Positioned to win the most recent Xfinity race at Homestead, Larson failed to win after holding a 15-second lead at one point. On the final restart, an over-eager Sam Mayer struck Larson from behind. Larson won the Cup and Truck events at Homestead.
“I think he’s got a much better shot at sweeping this weekend than he did at Homestead,” Dale Tanhardt said during a recent YouTube video with Eric Estepp. “And I was blown away by how good he was in the Xfinity car.”
Larson (-150) enters Saturday as the heavy betting favorite to capture the SciAps 300, according to BetOnline Sportsbook. Points leader Justin Allgaier (+400) ranked second and Mayer (+900) third.
