NFL Draft 2025: 49ers, Dolphins, Cowboys Linked To Texas CB Jahdae Barron

There will be several teams looking to add to their defensive backfields in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft. One of the top cornerback prospects in this year’s class is Jahdae Barron out of Texas, who figures to be a first round pick on April 24th. Which teams have him on their radars?
Jahdae Barron Is One Of The Top CB Prospects For 2025 NFL Draft
Barron spent five seasons in Austin playing for the Longhorns, and had the best of his collegiate career in 2024. His five interceptions were tied for the most in the SEC, and his 11 passes defended was a career high. His season was highlighted by an 11-tackle performance in the College Football Playoff game against Arizona State.
He was one of four defensive backs in the nation to be named to the All-American Team, and he won the Jim Thorpe award as the best defensive back in the country.

Because of his accolades and adjoining skills, Jahdae Barron is considered by many to be the top cornerback prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft Class (behind the hybrid listing of Travis Hunter). Some mock drafts have him pegged for a top-10 selection, with others projecting that his name is called somewhere in the early 20s.
Three Teams Have Been Linked To The All-American
According to reports, three cornerback-hungry teams have been showing a heavy interest. The 49ers, Dolphins, and Cowboys are all candidates to add elite defensive back talent, and Barron is apparently worth spending their first round picks on.
The 49ers saw two of their four most-used cornerbacks depart via free agency, including Pro Bowler Charvarius Ward. There is speculation that they’ll look to address either the offensive or defensive lines with their first round pick, but Barron is certainly not out of the question at pick number 11.
The Dolphins have former All-Pro Jalen Ramsey as their CB1, but not much else when it comes to depth at the position. Kader Kohou has had varying results during his three years in the NFL, and the unproven Storm Duck is the third player listed on the depth chart. Miami owns the 13th pick, and have plenty of holes to fill on their defense and offensive line, but they’ll be taking a long look at Jahdae Barron if he is available when they are on the clock.
The Cowboys already signed Kaiir Elam during free agency, so it may be unlikely that they look for cornerback help in the Draft. But if Barron is the best available player when they made their pick at number 12 (and he very well might be), then they’ll have to consider bringing him in to join Trevon Diggs on the corners.
