NFL Draft 2025: Miami Dolphins Picks, Team Needs, Targets, & Mock Draft

The Miami Dolphins are coming off of a disappointing 2024 NFL season that saw them miss the playoffs for the first time in three years. They limped out to a 2-6 start but won 6 of their last 9 games in order to keep things respectable for a team with higher hopes than just a Wild Card appearance.
Miami Dolphins | 2025 NFL Draft Preview
There were a multitude of reasons for their shortcomings in 2024, including both injuries and player regression, and they didn’t make any splashy signings during the initial free agency period in March. Miami had one of the most talented rosters in the league the two years prior, but they’re now lacking at certain positions and won’t be considered contenders, at least not on paper. The Dolphins could also trade Jalen Ramsey ahead of the draft, which could bring in additional picks in this year’s draft.
They’ll use the 2025 Draft in order to fill some of their roster holes and hopefully add talent to a team that lacks in some key areas. Find out how many picks the Miami Dolphins have in 2025 and which players they might select to bolster their roster and get back into the NFL Playoffs.
List Of Draft Picks
The Dolphins have one of the highest pick totals for the 2025 NFL Draft, coming in with 10 total. Only the Ravens and 49ers have more, with 11 apiece. Miami has some solid value in those selections, too, with six of them being in the top 150, and two of those came by way of compensatory picks. According to draft power rankings, the Dolphins rank 13th in the league.

Team Needs
Guard
The entirety of the offensive line is a question mark for the Dolphins, which has proven to be one of their shortcomings over the past few seasons. It won’t get any easier with left tackle Terron Armstead retiring this off-season, creating yet another need for the team. The guard position is notably thin, with newcomer James Daniels and the underachieving Liam Eichenberg slated to be the starters (as of now).
Cornerback
Cornerback was going to be a position of need for the Dolphins even before the Jalen Ramsey news. It has become an even bigger issue now that the former NFL All-Pro corner has been granted permission to seek a trade, meaning that Miami could be forced to use their first round pick to address the position.
Defensive Tackle
The Dolphins let Christian Wilkins walk last off-season, but had a solid replacement in Calais Campbell in 2024. But the latter departed for Arizona last month, leaving yet another hole in the trenches for Miami. They probably won’t look for a defensive tackle at pick no.13, but will likely use one of their later round picks to fill the need.
Safety
Jevon Holland looked as though he’d be a key piece for Miami, but he struggled in 2024 and the team let him walk in free agency. The team brought in two safeties back in March in order to fill out the position, but there will still be some depth that is needed. The need for both safety and cornerback make it likely that the Dolphins use their first round pick to address their defensive backfield.

- 4th Round, 116th overall pick: Lathan Ransom – S, Ohio State
- 4th Round, 135th overall pick: Seth McLaughlin – IOL, Ohio State
