The New York Giants finished tied for the worst record in the NFL in 2024 by posting a 3-14 mark, their amount of wins since the 2017 campaign. Their quarterback situation was in disarray, which led to an offense that ranked second-to-last in points scored, and the defense finished just outside the bottom ten in the league.

New York Giants | NFL Draft Preview

They addressed the QB spot by bringing in veterans, but there are still plenty of holes to fill throughout the roster. Luckily, the Giants have one of the best power rankings when it comes to 2025 NFL Draft assets, and they hold the valuable 3rd overall pick in the upcoming selection process.

How will they utilize their capital this year? We take a look at which picks New York owns, which positions are areas of need, and predict which players they might select.

List Of Picks In 2025 NFL Draft

The Giants will have a top-three pick in each of the first three rounds, giving them 3 selections within the top 65. The third overall is obviously the most valuable, and they could be a team that looks to trade down in order to gather assets to help fill out their roster. They have a comp pick in the third round and no pick in the 6th, but have an extra 7th rounder via the Buffalo Bills.

1st Round, 3rd overall

2nd Round, 34th overall

3rd Round, 65th overall

3rd Round, 99th overall (comp pick)

4th Round, 105th overall

5th Round, 154th overall (from SEA)

7th Round, 219th overall

7th Round, 246th overall (from BUF)

Team Needs

Quarterback

The Giants brought in two veteran QBs in free agency, but Russell Wilson nor Jameis Winston are long-term solutions. New York won’t let the signings cloud their perspective on bringing in a signal caller of the future, and there are a handful of prospects that will be available in the second and third round of the NFL Draft for them to potentially choose from.

Defensive Line

Dexter Lawrence is one of the best defensive linemen in the game, but the Giants are short on talent at the position otherwise. They brought in a couple of depth pieces via free agency so far this off-season, so they are still in need of an elite talent to play on the line and go up against the Tush Push in their own division.

Cornerback

The Giants surprisingly finished in the top ten in the NFL in pass defense, but they still lack elite talent at the cornerback position. Adoree’ Jackson is gone after four years, but they did bring in Paulson Adebo from the Saints in free agency. They could address their depth at corner in a multitude of ways, including selecting Travis Hunter if he is available with the 3rd pick.

According to DraftKings, the player favored to be selected with the 3rd overall pick is Abdul Carter, with a designation of -280. Travis Hunter is well behind at +230, with Shedeur Sanders behind him at +475. It does not specify, however, which NFL team will be making the pick.
