NFL Draft 2025: Polymarket Predicts 57% Chance Titans Trade No. 1 Overall Pick

There is no clear-cut, can’t-miss prospect for the 2025 NFL Draft. It is unclear who the Tennessee Titans are leaning towards selecting with the first overall pick, and there are now questions about whether they’ll be making the pick at all. According to Polymarket, it is likely that they trade away their asset sometime before April 24th.
NFL Draft: Will The Titans Trade The No.1 Overall Pick?
The Titans were one of three teams in 2024 to finish with a record of 3-14. By way of a strength of schedule tie-breaker, they were awarded the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft over the Browns and Giants, giving them the top selection for the first time since 1978. They were the Houston Oilers back then, and used that pick to draft future Hall of Famer Earl Campbell.
What do they plan to do with the highest draft compensation that they’ve had in 46 years? Tennessee is one of the teams around the league that is desperate for a quarterback, but this isn’t exactly the best year for elite signal caller talents. There are only two QBs who are projected to be first round picks in Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders, and it is unclear if either is worthy of being taken number one.
Another possibility would be to select Penn State pass rusher Abdul Carter, who many consider to be the best overall player in this year’s class.
Or, the Titans can trade the pick. According to Polymarket’s prediction models, there is a 57% chance that Tennessee trades away the selection. They would be able to pick up extra assets by moving down, allowing another NFL team to make the decision on whom the best available player is, and address the quarterback position either through free agency or a trade.
The likelihood that the Titans get rid of the no.1 overall pick has increased dramatically over the past week. As recently as March 6th, Polymarket had the possibility at 37%, which actually shot all the way up to 72% the very next day before settling at its current standing.
The first round of the 2025 NFL Draft is set to take place on the evening of April 24th. This year’s selection process will be held in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
