Xavier Restrepo was one of the most productive wide receivers in the nation in 2024. But he might be sitting around for a while when the NFL Draft rolls around, due mostly to the lack of size that could present at issue at the next level.

Xavier Restrepo NFL Player Profile

Of all the elite wide receivers to ever come through the University of Miami football program, none has racked up more catches or yards than Xavier Restrepo. He finished his five-year career with the school with an All-American nod in 2024 after leading the ACC with 1,127 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns, and is garnering draft buzz as a possible Day 2 NFL Draft pick.

His size will be the biggest knock on his status as a prospect. Restrepo stands just 5’10” and weighs well under 200 pounds, making him destined to be a slot receiver at the next level. His shorter arms give quarterbacks a smaller target radius, and he’ll likely have trouble with larger players as his game centers around the use of the middle of the field and underneath routes.

But he is a talented route runner, described more as “quick” than “fast”, and already possesses the “football instincts” that are almost impossible to teach. Restrepo was able to make his mark on the Miami record books during his collegiate career despite being more of a short option, which is the part of his game that NFL teams will likely value.

2025 Combine Results

40-Yard Dash

Restrepo’s participation in the 2025 NFL Combine was notably limited. He was seem in some catching and route running drills, but didn’t showcase his skills in things like the 40-yard dash or any of the jumping/leaping events. A source said that Restrepo felt like he couldn’t showcase his true speed due to general wear and tear, and we’ll have to wait until Miami’s Pro Day later this month to see how fast of a time he can clock.

Bench Press

There were only 8 wide receivers who took part in the bench press event in 2025. But Restrepo did, and was one of the best at his position as well. Of the 8, he was able to get up the third-most reps, finishing with 17. That number was six pumps behind leader Jaylin Noel out of Iowa State, who managed 23.

Xavier Restrepo 2025 NFL Draft Prediction

He certainly won’t be one of the first wide receivers taken in the upcoming draft, purely due to his size. But there could be a team in the middle rounds that believes strongly enough in his skills as a slot receiver to take a chance on the wildly productive wideout. Restrepo will be waiting around while NFL teams pick the best player available in the early rounds, but he might just fit one of their schemes perfectly, and could become a value pick on Day 2.

Prediction: 3rd Round, 90th overall pick – Los Angeles Rams
