NFL Draft: 3 Hypothetical Trades For 49ers 1st Round Pick

The San Francisco 49ers have 11 picks in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft, tied for the most of any team. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, they are one of the teams looking to potentially move down in the first round, in order to acquire more capital in this draft or a future one.
NFL Draft: 49ers Could Trade Down In The 1st Round
Which teams might come calling on draft night? We take a look at three hypothetical trades that the 49ers could entertain for the 11th overall selection:
Trade #1: Dolphins Move Up 2 Spots To Pick Cornerback
49ers Receive: 1st Rd Pick (13th) & 3rd Rd Pick (98th)
Dolphins Receive: 1st Rd Pick (11th)
One of the many holes that the Miami Dolphins have to fill during this year’s NFL Draft is cornerback. The position was an area of need even before the announcement that they were attempting to trade Jalen Ramsey, and now it may be their top priority during the first round.
If it is, they may look to move up two spots if Michigan’s Will Johnson is available. Johnson is the next-best cornerback prospect behind Travis Hunter, and could be selected by the Saints with the 9th overall pick. If New Orleans picks a quarterback or a player at another position, then moving up to take Johnson might be in the cards for the Dolphins. They would send the 98th overall pick in order to move up two spots.
Trade scenario:
• 49ers receive: 20th and 51st overall
• Broncos receive: 11th overallThe 49ers then select whichever player is still available at #20 between Walter Nolen, Shemar Stewart, and Derrick Harmon

Trade #2: Broncos Move Up For Elite TE Prospect
49ers Receive: 1st Rd Pick (20th) & 2nd Rd Pick (51st)
Broncos Receive: 1st Rd Pick: (11th)
The Denver Broncos are in need of offensive weapons to surround their young quarterback with, and a tight end is at the top of their list.
Penn State’s Tyler Warren is the top prospect at the position this year, having been named a First Team All-American in 2024 while winning the John Mackey Award for the best tight end in the nation. There is a chance that he’ll be selected in the top-10, but if both the Jets and Bears pass on him, then Denver could look to move up 9 spots. They’d give the 20th and 51st overall picks in return.
Trade #3: Chargers Make Big Leap For Big WR
49ers Receive: 1st Rd Pick (22nd), 2nd Rd Pick (55th), 6th Rd Pick (199th)
Chargers Receive: 1st Rd Pick (11th)
One of the teams that will be looking to add an elite talent is the Los Angeles Chargers. They own the 22nd overall pick and have a full boat of draft capital in the later rounds, but might use some of that ammo to move up and pick perhaps the best wide receiver prospect available.
Tetairoa McMillan may be the most NFL ready wideout in the class behind Hunter, and could very well be available at the first handful of picks after the top-10. Depending on how they feel about guys like Matthew Golden or Emeka Egbuka, it might be worth it for the Chargers to give up 2nd and 5th round picks to move up 11 spots.
