NFL MVP Odds: Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford Loses Lead After Bad Half Vs. Atlanta Falcons

The overwhelming sports-betting favorite to capture the NFL MVP award for much of the second half of the regular season, Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford threw away BetOnline Sportsbook’s top odds during the first half of last Monday night’s 27-24 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

In the opening 30 minutes of the prime-time outing, Stafford completed nine of 17 passes for 96 yards and two interceptions, including a pick-six.

Meanwhile, New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye basked in Sunday’s 42-10 victory over the New York Jets. The second-year starter became the first player in league history to complete 90 percent of his passes while posting at least 250 yards and five touchdowns.

Entering Week 18, Maye (-330) was tabbed with the top odds in a what has developed into a two-QB race. Stafford, who had -425 Week 17 odds, fell to +210.

The Rams (11-5) and Patriots (13-3) have qualified for the playoffs and could rest their starters if their games Sunday get out of hand.

Did Maye do enough in Week 17?

Can Stafford rally to secure his first MVP honor?
