Jaire Alexander Next Team Odds: Buffalo Bills Favored To Land Packers’ CB

The Green Bay Packers are reportedly taking calls on cornerback Jaire Alexander, and the sportsbooks have released odds on which NFL city he’ll eventually end up in.
Which NFL Teams Might Trade For Jaire Alexander?
Trading the often-injured, former Pro Bowler would save the Packers nearly $7 million in salary cap space. He has played in just seven games in each of the past two seasons while dealing with various ailments, as well as a one-game suspension. Frustrations with his inability to stay healthy have apparently grown within the organization, and Alexander’s name will be one of the biggest on the trade market this off-season.

Which NFL teams have the best chance of landing the 28-year-old? Here are the odds on landing spots for Jaire Alexander:
Buffalo Bills +400
Since being drafted by Buffalo in the first round in 2022, cornerback Kaiir Elam has been mostly a disappointment. He started just four games last season after injuries cut his 2023 campaign short, and the Bills will likely be looking into other options at the position this off-season. Christian Benford had a productive year while starting 15 games in 2024, but they should be looking for an upgrade at the position to line up opposite of Taron Johnson.
One of the players that they might look into acquiring is Alexander from the Packers. It would take some financial finagling, as Buffalo is currently over the salary cap, but the final two years of Alexander’s current contract are not guaranteed, allowing for a trading team to re-negotiate his terms.
Buffalo has the shortest odds of any NFL team to bring him in, currently sitting at +400.
Baltimore Ravens +500
The Ravens were one of the top teams overall in the NFL last season, but they have a glaring weakness on the defensive side of the ball. They gave up the second-most passing yards of any team in 2024, and will almost certainly be looking for an upgrade at the position this off-season. They have one of the game’s best in Marlon Humphry already in place, and he is coming off of the second First Team All-Pro appearance of his career.
But there is a steep drop-off in talent behind him at the cornerback position. In order to spend money this off-season, Baltimore will likely have to restructure Humphry’s deal, given that his cap hit is larger than anyone on the team not named Lamar Jackson. With the extra money, though, they could be active on the free agent market, or target a guy like Jaire Alexander in a trade.
The oddsmakers have the Ravens listed at +500 to land Alexander.
Washington Commanders +600
The Commanders will be looking to build on their surprising success in 2024, and have plenty of money to be able to afford upgrades. Washington currently ranks third in the NFL in available cap space, and should be willing to allocate some of that cash to improving in the cornerback department.
Marshon Lattimore figures to be the centerpiece of the unit, despite playing just two games in a Commanders’ uniform after the mid-season trade from the Saints. Mike Sainristil had an impressive rookie season, but is still a year or two away from even being considered a no.1 or no.2 options at corner.
Jaire Alexander immediately becomes an option. Not only would he be one of the better cornerbacks available on the open market, but he has a connection within the coaching staff as well. Jason Simmons is currently the Commanders’ defensive passing game coordinator, and he was a secondary/defensive backs coach with the Packers during Alexander’s first two years in the NFL.
Washington has +600 odds according to the sportsbooks.
Buffalo Bills | +400 |
Baltimore Ravens | +500 |
