The 2025 NFL trade deadline is a little over a month away. November 4th is the last day that potential playoff contenders can make trades to bolster their respective rosters and gear up for a late-season run. That means several teams will have to decide whether or not they will be buyers or sellers over the next month and some high-profile players could be on the move. Below, we’ll break down five players who could be moved at the trade deadline and reveal their most likely landing spots.
Breece Hall — RB, NY Jets
Potential Destinations: KC, ARI, CHI
Breece Hall is expected to be one of the most highly sought after offensive players at the 2025 trade deadline. The New York Jets are currently winless through four games, which positions them to be surefire sellers headed into Nov. 4.
Hall is in the final year of his contract and unlikely to be re-signed due to the team’s depth at running back with Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis. Hall will also come at a relatively cheap price for contending teams, as he will only have $1.5 million left on his deal when the trade deadline comes around in a few weeks.
Several teams without playoff aspirations could use some help at running back, including the Kansas City Chiefs and Arizona Cardinals. The Chiefs seem like a snug fit for Hall, who has averaged 4.6 yards per carry and hauled in 165 passes in three-plus seasons in New York.
David Njoku — TE, Cleveland Browns
Potential Destinations: DEN, LAR, JAX
It’s no secret that the Browns are in rebuilding mode and the move to rookie Dillon Gabriel at quarterback this week could be the first of many moves over the next month.
Tight end David Njoku might be the most obvious trade candidate in Cleveland. The veteran tight end has developed into a reliable target over the last four seasons, hauling in 19 touchdowns during that span.
However, the Browns look like they already have Njoku’s heir apparent on the roster in rookie third-round pick Harold Fannin Jr.
Njoku has not had more than 40 receiving yards in a game yet this season and is coming off of a clash versus Detroit in which he was outsnapped and outgained by the rookie.
Despite operating as the backup tight end, Fannin Jr. has already commanded a healthy target share in Cleveland, hauling in 17 passes for 160 yards while lining up in the slot and at tight end over the first four weeks of the season.
Njoku had his salary converted to an option bonus which makes him extremely affordable for potential contenders. Even when factoring in per-game-active bonuses it will only cost about $1M to acquire him at the deadline.
Several playoff teams could use a difference-maker at tight end, including the Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Rams.
Kayvon Thibodeaux — EDGE, NY Giants
Potential Destinations: SF, JAX, KC, BAL
New York is off to a 1-3 start and recently lost top wide receiver Malik Nabers for the season, quickly turning the 2025 season into another rebuilding year. The Giants will be among a handful of sellers at the trade deadline with a potential quality pass rusher available.
Kayvon Thibodeaux might be the odd man out in the Giants’ rotation of edge rushers.
The Giants are already committed to Brian Burns and No. 2 pick Abdul Carter and could use some additional draft capital heading into the 2026 Draft.
The No. 5 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, Thibodeaux would still command a healthy return for the Giants if traded, likely a second-round pick and a late-round pick swap.
Thibodeaux is off to a strong start in 2025 with 2.5 sacks in four games. He has compiled 23.5 sacks in 47 career games and had a career-best 11.5 sacks in his sophomore campaign in 2023.
Trey Hendrickson — EDGE, Cincinnati Bengals
Potential Destinations: SF, JAX, KC, DAL
Since the start of the 2023 NFL season, no edge rusher has more sacks than Cincinnati Bengals star Trey Hendrickson. Hendrickson has had 17.5 sacks in each of the past two seasons, establishing himself as one of the league’s premiere defenders during that span.
Joe Burrow’s injury will likely leave the Bengals with no choice but to become sellers at the trade deadline. Cincinnati currently owns a 2-2 record and has dropped back-to-back games with backup Jake Browning as the starter.
Several playoff contenders could use a proven pass rusher, including the San Francisco 49ers, who recently lost edge Nick Bosa for the season. Jacksonville, Kansas City, and Baltimore could also be in the mix if they remain in the playoff hunt over the next month.
Hendrickson will be a free agent after this season but he could be more than just a rental if he lands on the right team.
Riq Woolen — CB, Seattle Seahawks
Potential Destinations: IND, PHI, LAR, DET
This currently feels like a longshot with the Seattle Seahawks battling for the NFC West lead, but according to NFL insider Ian Rappoport, cornerback Riq Woolen could be on the trade block.
Rapport posted on X that “Teams are monitoring Pro Bowl CB Riq Woolen as a possible trade target by the deadline, sources tell The Insiders. Woolen’s playing time has diminished, and in a contract year, teams believe he could be available.”
There are a lot of NFL teams who could use some help in the secondary.
The Indianapolis Colts recently lost starting cornerback Xavien Howard, who abruptly retired following the team’s Week 4 loss versus the L.A. Rams. The Philadelphia Eagles also have a young secondary and the Rams lost Ahkello Witherspoon to a broken clavicle in Week 2, so there would be plenty of suitors for a 6-foot-4 corner with 52 starts under their belt.
Woolen is just 26 years old and has compiled 11 interceptions through his first three NFL seasons. He’s also played at least 93% of the snaps in each of the team’s first four games and remains an integral part of the Seahawks’ standout defense, so it’s unfair to say that his playing time has diminished at all this season.
