NFL Trade Rumors: Bengals Asking Price For Trey Hendrickson Is “Ridiculous”

The Cincinnati Bengals granted permission to Trey Hendrickson to seek a trade last week. There have reportedly been plenty of teams interested in bringing in one of the most consistent pass rushing stars in the NFL, who is looking for a new contract with whichever team decides to take him on.
But according to team sources around the league, the Bengals’ asking price for the First Team All-Pro is “ridiculous”.
NFL Teams Finding Bengals’ Asking Price To Be Too High
Hendrickson has spent the last four years in Cincinnati, and has solidified himself as one of the game’s most consistent pass rushers. He led the league in sacks in 2024 by racking up 17.5, exactly matching his number from the prior season. His career-high mark in tackles was a boost to his resume, and he came in second in Defensive Player of the Year voting this past year.
Teams are willing to pay Trey Hendrickson the contract that he desires but have found Cincinnati’s current asking price to be “ridiculous,” as one GM told me.

Because of his elevated status, the Bengals have made him almost unaffordable on the open market. Not only will any NFL team trading for his services have to dole out big money for a new contract, but would have to give up a first round pick “and maybe more” in order to appease Cincinnati’s demands.
Hendrickson isn’t the only player that is in limbo with the Bengals. Superstar wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase is still waiting on a new contract, which is expected to break records among non-quarterbacks, and the price tag is reportedly growing rapidly. Cincinnati placed the franchise tag on Tee Higgins for the second year in a row, and are shopping him alongside Hendrickson. The trade compensation that the Bengals are seeking for Higgins has been said to be abnormally high, as well.
Despite having sought-after stars on both sides of the ball in addition to quarterback Joe Burrow, the Bengals missed out on the NFL playoffs for the second straight year in 2024. They finished with a 9-8 record after winning the final five games of the season.
