Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jerry Jeudy took to Twitter on Thursday night to announce that he played baseball for the first time that evening. To be clear, he was playing softball, but what’s the difference when it is teammate David Njoku’s celebrity softball game to benefit Cleveland-area charities. Jeudy hit a homerun and enjoyed his trip around the bases. This fun-filled event is about meeting the fans, occasional competitive softball, and bragging rights.

Njoku Carries On Beloved Cleveland Browns Tradition

David Njoku has taken over this fan-favorite event started by Jarvis Landry in 2019.  Cleveland Browns players and celebrities from all walks of life participate as players and spectators for the event while signing autographs and interacting with fans.

This year’s attendees included Hall of Famer Michael Irvin. Browns current and former players who competed in addition to Jeudy were Cedric Tillman, Grant Delpit, Shedeur Sanders, Josh Cribbs, and Joe Haden. Denzel Ward and Mike Hall Jr. came out to support the event.

Sanders had an opportunity to address his two speeding tickets which have been all over the news in the past few days.  Though Sanders did not mention them directly, he admitted to making some wrong choices that he needs to own up to.  Sanders said he learned from them.  Hopefully that means there are no more speeding tickets in his future, and they are paid and/or contested and resolved before training camp so the discussion ends on this issue.

The Cleveland Browns are about one month away from training camp.  Rookies report on July 18, and veterans on July 22.  Shedeur Sanders is part of an interesting assortment of quarterbacks on the 2025 roster consisting of Joe Flacco, Dillon Gabriel, and Kenny Pickett. Which quarterback plays the Browns first preseason game on Friday, August 8 at 7 PM at Carolina is just one of the burning questions fans will have once camp begins.
