The Gamecocks just landed a major commitment from a pair of elite defensive line prospects and continue to push hard for a quarterback in the 2026 class. South Carolina Football June 6–8 Official Visit Weekend Recap Shane Beamer and his staff hosted one of their biggest recruiting weekends of the cycle from June 6–8 in Columbia. Headlining the visit list was former Gamecock commit and four-star quarterback Landon Duckworth, who decommitted, but has remained a priority target. Duckworth, a 2026 prospect out of Alabama, included South Carolina in his final four alongside Georgia, Florida State, and Ole Miss. His visit reportedly went well, and the Gamecocks are considered very much in play. Also on campus were four-star twin brothers Aiden and Andrew Harris from North Carolina. The visit would prove decisive. Harris Twins Commit to South Carolina On June 8, just hours after wrapping up their official visits, Aiden and Andrew Harris publicly committed to South Carolina. Both are four-star defensive linemen out of Weddington (NC) and chose USC over offers from Auburn, Ohio State, Penn State, Florida, Texas, Miami, and Oregon. Aiden Harris: 6′3″, 255 lbs, DT projection Andrew Harris: Edge/front-seven defender Their pledges mark one of the biggest recruiting wins of the cycle for South Carolina. The brothers held over 40 offers apiece and add size, depth, and instant credibility to the 2026 class. Quarterback Search Still Ongoing With five-star QB Jared Curtis cutting USC from his list earlier this spring, the Gamecocks have refocused their QB efforts. Duckworth is now the clear top target, and the staff hasn’t let his past decommitment deter them. They’ve stayed in regular contact and were aggressive in getting him back to Columbia. Duckworth’s OV to South Carolina came between his Georgia and FSU visits. While he hasn’t set a commitment date, South Carolina is very much in the mix and would take him today. In-State Focus: Amare Adams and Others One in-state name no longer in play is 2025 DL Amare Adams, who committed to Clemson in December. He had long been a top priority for the Gamecocks, but they’ve since shifted focus elsewhere along the defensive front. So far, South Carolina has avoided any notable decommitments since early May. Staff is focused on retention and adding key remaining pieces — especially at quarterback. Outlook for Summer South Carolina’s staff continues to recruit with urgency and precision. Landing the Harris twins gives the 2026 class a major boost, especially in the trenches. Duckworth remains the most important uncommitted name, and his decision could define the rest of USC’s summer strategy. More visitors are expected later in June as the Gamecocks aim to close strong before fall camp. With momentum now building, South Carolina looks to climb the 2026 recruiting rankings over the next 60 days.
