Sportsbook Tabs Chandler Smith With Top NASCAR Xfinity Series Championship Odds; Sheldon Creed Seeks Success At Homestead-Miami Speedway
Chandler Smith may be leading the NASCAR Xfinity Series playoff standings, but he may have to take time over the next few weeks to update his resume.
Branded by BetOnline Sportsbook with the circuit’s top sports-betting odds to claim the circuit championship, Smith (+240) faces unemployment following next month’s Championship 4 race at Phoenix Raceway.
Joe Gibbs Racing on Monday announced the signing of prospect William Sawalich.
Entering the weekend, Smith leads the series’ full-time drivers with a 10.6 average finish. Pilot of the No. 81 Toyota, Smith compiled two wins and 15 top-five finishes.
Smith, 22, is a product of the NASCAR’s developmental series the past seven years. Over that span, he has collected 10 ARCA Series wins, five Truck Series wins and three Xfinity Series wins. He was also named the 2021 Trucks Series rookie of the year.
One recent rumor on X (Twitter) suggested Smith will replace Cup Series driver John Hunter Nemechek at Legacy Motor Club.
Teammates Chandler Smith and Sheldon Creed had a conversation post-race. Smith was not happy with how his teammate raced him.

Sheldon Creed Seeks To Enjoy Success At Homestead
Sheldon Creed anticipates a return to one of his favorite tracks.
Despite failing to secure a top-15 finish in either of two previous events at Homestead-Miami, Creed has developed a fondness for the 1.5-mile oval.
Running P12 with 12 laps remaining last season, Creed crashed, leading to a P26. During his debut run in 2022, he earned a P17.
“Yeah, I’ve had some bad luck there the past couple of years, but I still really enjoy Homestead,” Creed said, per JGR PR. ““It’s fun and it suits my strengths quite well. I think I’m due for some better luck there so hopefully we can have things go our way this weekend.”
Creed could use a better run.
Out of the Round of 8, Creed, who will drive with Haas Factory Team next season, seeks to turn his admiration for Homestead into a strong finish with Joe Gibb Racing. Creed earned a ninth-place finish at Las Vegas Motor Speedway last Saturday after starting 38th.
Along with Cole Custer and Smith, Creed leads the circuit with 20 top-10s.
