How Much Do Players Get Paid For Winning The Super Bowl?

Each player on the winning side of Super Bowl LIV will take home $171,000, according to Article 37 in the NFL collective bargaining agreement.

This is $7,000 more per player than last year, where eligible players from the winning team each received $164,000.

This is almost three times as much as the annual average salary in the U.S, which comes in at around $63,795.

Last year, each player from the losing team took home $96,000. This was $7,000 more than members from the losing team received the year before that.

Not quite. Several players from both the winning and losing side could see their prize money figure cut in half due to certain eligibility criteria.

  • Played at least eight previous games from the regular season or post season. This is regardless of whether they’re on the active or inactive list or not.

Players who get half the bonus from the prize money have done the following:

  • Played fewer than three previous games during the regular season or playoffs and are on the team’s active or inactive list when the Super Bowl is played.
