Super Bowl 2025 Ticket Prices Down More Than 25% From Last Year

Tickets to the Super Bowl are some of the most expensive of any sporting event. They’ve seen a rise in cost essentially every year since the game’s inception, with the cheapest ticket reaching the $2,500 plateau in 2016. They are of course more expensive in more recent years, and reached an all-time high in 2024 as Super Bowl LVIII saw a get-in price of over $6,500. But they’ve become more affordable this year, as early rates show a 25% decrease in 2025.
Super Bowl Ticket Prices Down More Than 25% From Last Season
There was one major factor that played into the high prices last year. For the first time in NFL history, the big game was played in Las Vegas. The city that is quickly becoming an entertainment capital has been attracting major sporting events in recent years, including Formula 1, and has added two professional sports teams since 2017 (with a third on the way).
One of the perks of constructing a brand-new, state-of-the-art stadium in a warm weather city is the ability to host a Super Bowl. It was an obvious choice, given that Las Vegas is used to hosting massive events, and was considered a clear success after all was said and done.
But due to the appeal of the first Super Bowl to ever be played in Sin City, ticket prices were the highest that we’ve ever seen. The Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers are of course large draws in themselves, but the same matchup back in 2020 saw a get-in price of $3,488. In 2024, that price was nearly doubled, as the cheapest available ticket was listed at $6,559.
We are still more than 10 days out from Super Bowl 2025, but early prices show a serious drop from last season. According to StubHub, the cheapest seat to see the Chiefs take on the Eagles this year is currently listed at just over $4,700, which is a drop of over 28%.
How Do This Year’s Prices Compare Overall?
There are a few factors, but none as big as the location. Super Bowl 2025 will be played in New Orleans, the 11th time the city has been the host, and certainly doesn’t have the current appeal or cachet that Vegas held last year. But history can be make this year, as the Chiefs are looking to be the first team to ever win three Super Bowls in a row.
How would this year’s prices compare to years other than 2024? Should the current price hold, Super Bowl 2025 would be the third-most expensive ever. When the Cincinnati Bengals met the Los Angeles Rams back in 2022, the get-in price was listed at $5,825, which was nearly $2,000 more expensive than the previous year. That game was played in a brand-new venue and was essentially SoFi Stadium’s coming out party, and featured the hometown team as one of the participants. There was also plenty of hype around that year’s halftime show.
