The DC Universe is ready to take flight in Superman. Will the DCU debut of the Man of Steel lead to a financial win? Below are the odds and predictions for Superman’s box office during its opening weekend.

Superman’s First Reviews Are Positive

It’s been a long time coming, but Superman has arrived.

David Corenswet is the new Clark Kent/Superman, taking over for Henry Cavill. In the DCU movie, Superman has been protecting Metropolis for about three years.

Clark works at the Daily Planet alongside star reporter (Rachel Brosnahan), his eventual love interest. While Lois loves Superman, Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult) hates him and will do whatever it takes to kill him.

Superman’s cast includes Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Anthony Corrigan as Metamorpho, María Gabriela de Faría as Angela Spica/The Engineer, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., and Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl.

DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn is the writer and director of Superman, the first movie in the DC Universe’s Chapter One: Gods and Monsters.

The embargo has lifted, and the first reviews are positive. Per Rotten Tomatoes, Superman is certified fresh at 86% on the Tomatometer.

Superman opens in theaters on July 11, 2025.

Superman will unseat Jurassic World Rebirth as the top movie at the box office.

It will certainly surpass the $100 million dollar threshold.

How high Superman gets is unknown.

Superman’s tracking is between $120 million and $130 million during its opening weekend. However, Warner Bros., the studio behind Superman, is projecting a more conservative estimate of $100 million to $110 million.

Positive reviews will only help Superman’s box office. Some projections think Superman could soar over $140 million in its opening weekend.

Man of Steel, the first Superman movie in Zack Snyder’s DC Extended Universe, opened to $116.6 million back in 2013.

Man of Steel’s sequel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, improved significantly with an opening of $166 million.
