The PLAYERS Championship 2025 Odds, Expert Picks and Best Bets

After wrapping up an exciting finish at the Arnold Palmer Invitational last weekend, the PGA Tour heads to the PLAYERS Championship in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. Known as the fifth major, the PLAYERS Championship brings together the best golfers on the PGA Tour to the iconic TPC Sawgrass Stadium course. 

The PLAYERS Championship features the biggest purse on the Tour at $25 million and gives away a $4.5 million cheque to the winner. As a result, some of golf’s biggest names are competing this weekend, including World No.1 Scottie Scheffler, who will look to become the first player to win three Players Championships in a row. 

The field also includes heavy hitters like Rory McIlroy, Collin Morikawa, Xander Schauffele, and more.

The PLAYERS Championship 2025 Odds

In 2019, the PLAYERS Championship was moved from May to March, affecting TPC Sawgrass’s roughs. Players are now challenged with grown-out roughs, which makes driving accuracy critical this weekend. 

In 2025, the PLAYERS Championship will bring together the strongest field of the season, with 48 of the top 50 players in the world competing at TPC Sawgrass. 

The field is led by Scottie Scheffler, who is the overwhelming favorite at +550 odds. Scheffler is on a mission to become the first-ever golfer to the PLAYERS three straight years in a row. The top five contenders also includes Rory McIlroy (+1200), Collin Morikawa (+1400), Ludvig Aberg (+1800), and Justin Thomas (+2200).

Collin Morikawa (+1400)

After a solo second finish at the Arnold Palmer Invitational last weekend, Collin Morikawa is in top form and knocking on the door for his first win since the Zozo Championship. He’s fourth on the PGA Tour in driving accuracy, with 72% of his tee shots finding the fairway. Currently, he’s leading the Tour in strokes gained tee to green. Morikawa has also finished runner up in three of his last six starts. 

Hideki Matsuyama (+2800)

Already a proven winner this season, Hideki Matsuyama has flown under the radar since the Sentry. He has a great course history at TPC Sawgrass and has had great success over the past few years. He’s finished T-6 or better in his last two starts at the Players. 

In the field, Matsuyama has ranked sixth in strokes gained total, 12th in strokes gained: tee-to-green, and 13th at one-putt percentage. At +2800 odds and a signature event already under his belt, Matsuyama is a must-take at the Stadium Course. 

Michael Kim (+8000)

It may be a longshot, but Michael Kim has put together a very good run since being cut at the Farmers Insurance Open. In his last five starts, Kim has finished 13th or better. He’s fresh off a solo fourth-place finish at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. 

While TPC Sawgrass may present accuracy challenges for Kim, he’s played some of his best golf against the world’s best players. Kim ranks fifth in shots gained: tee-to-green and seventh in shots gained total. If he can get over the roughs at the Stadium Course, Kim will be one to watch this weekend.
