The Florida swing continues as the PGA Tour heads to TPC Sawgrass for the 2025 PLAYERS Championship. It’s the most significant signature event of the season, boasting a $25 million purse.

The field is highlighted by the PGA Tour’s best and upcoming players with all but two of the top 50 golfers in the world competing this weekend. All eyes will be on Scottie Scheffler, who is looking to become the first player to three-peat the Players. The tee times will begin at 7:40 a.m. ET and run until 2:46 p.m. ET for the first two rounds.

Despite the event being moved to March, the weather for the PLAYERS Championship is looking good. Other than some heavy winds on the weekend, the forecast predicts clear skies and some sunny days for the first few rounds.

The featured groups during the 2025 Players Championship do not disappoint. While most of the groups teeing off are considered a featured group during this signature event, some pairings are extra exciting.

The most anticipated group to watch this weekend will feature Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, and Xander Schauffele, who are currently the top three players in the Official World Golf Rankings. The star-studded group will tee off at 1:29 p.m. ET.

Other featured groups include Ludvig Aberg, Hideki Matsuyama, and Justin Thomas, who are among the hottest players on the Tour this season. The trio will tee off at 8:24 a.m. ET.

The PLAYERS Championship 2025 Round 1 Tee Times

The Players Championship will tee off at 7:40 a.m. ET, with 48 groups teeing off this weekend. The tee times are split into two groups, with the morning set running from 7:40 a.m. ET to 9:41 a.m. ET. The afternoon tee times start at 12:45 p.m. ET and end around 2:46 p.m. ET. Groups will tee off every 11 minutes from the start time.

The field is filled with golf’s best talent as 48 of the top 50 players compete this weekend at the Players Championship. The first group to tee off on Thursday will feature Chad Ramey, C.T. Pan, and Vince Whaley on the first hole at 7:40 a.m. ET. The last players to tee off during round 1 will include Kris Ventura, Kevin Roy, and Jackson Suber on hole 10 at 2:46 p.m. ET.

The PLAYERS Championship 2025 Weather Forecast

The weather is usually unpredictable in March during the Players Championship, but this year, the forecast seems favorable to the field. This year’s chance of rain is relatively low, with clear skies predicted at the Stadium Course.

However, the winds will pick up for the final two rounds of the Players Championship. After the cut, the field must account for wind gusts of up to 27 mph. Aside from the wind, the forecast is clear. The temperature is near perfect, with highs reaching 82°F on Sunday afternoon.
