San Jose Sharks wing Evander Kane has some major issues ahead of the 2020-21 season. Kane, who has earned $55 million so far, just filed for bankruptcy.

Despite their 7-12-5 record which has them currently in last place in the Pacific Division, the San Jose Sharks are proving to be must-see television of late during the 2024-2025 season.  They are an exciting young team that NHL fans should watch.

Here are three reasons why.

1. Many Third Period Game-Tying Goals

The San Jose Sharks lead the NHL with game-tying goals in the final ten minutes of the third period.

End-of-game excitement is fun to watch.

2. Rookie Sensation Macklin Celebrini Is Lighting It Up

Macklin Celebrini is a rookie leading the rebuilding and youth-focused San Jose Sharks team.  He is joined by fellow rookies Will Smith and Yaroslav Askarov.  Celebrini had his first three point career game (two goals and one assist) on Tuesday night in an upset win over the Los Angeles Kings.  The Sharks third period five goals is the team’s season high in a single period.

Celebrini, the first overall pick of the 2024 NHL Draft, is following in the footsteps of his 2023 counterpart Connor Bedard who had an excellent rookie season. He has so many playmaking qualities including a no-look wrist shot that has NHL fans marveling at the 18-year-old’s skills.

3. Leading Scorer: Mikael Granlund

Though Sharks leading scorer Mikael Granlund is temporarily sidelined with an upper body injury, the 32-year-old Finnish star has 9 goals and 15 assists this season.

His veteran leadership is beginning to pay dividends.

Upcoming Games

The Sharks are hosting the 9-11-1 Ottawa Senators on November 27, 2024 at 10:30 PM EST.   On November 29, 2024, the Sharks will host the 11-10-1 Seattle Kracken at 3:30 PM EST.
