All four USA Today experts back Spain to win, though they disagree on the margin.
Arnold sees the floodgates opening with a 4-0 Spain victory, predicting the team that many expected before the tournament finally shows up.
Vertelney is more measured at 2-0, while both Yomtov and Hernandez settle on a 1-0 win, with Hernandez noting that Saudi Arabia is a solid opponent that will not allow Spain to dominate freely.

Three of the four experts back Belgium to win, with Arnold and Hernandez both predicting a clean sheet 2-0 victory, and Yomtov calling it 2-1 to Belgium after a hard-fought contest.
Vertelney is the outlier, calling a 1-1 draw and noting that Iran performed well against New Zealand while Belgium still looked disjointed against Egypt.

This fixture has taken on far greater significance than anyone anticipated. Cape Verde stunned Spain with a 0-0 draw in their opener, with goalkeeper Vozinha making seven saves and becoming a viral sensation in the process.
Uruguay, meanwhile, came from behind to draw 1-1 with Saudi Arabia in a flat performance, still missing injured defender Ronaldo Araujo and attacking midfielder Giorgian de Arrascaeta.
Both sides now know that a win here could set up a decisive final-day showdown at the top of Group H.

Yomtov is most bullish at 3-0, citing Uruguay’s pedigree as two-time World Cup champions. Arnold and Hernandez both predict 2-0, with Arnold suggesting the fairy tale ends here for Cape Verde.
Vertelney is the most cautious at 1-0, acknowledging that the Blue Sharks will give an underperforming Uruguay a significant test.

New Zealand defied expectations entirely with a 2-2 draw against Iran, with Elijah Just scoring both goals to join Kylian Mbappe and Harry Kane as the only players to register a brace in their opening match.
The group is wide open, with New Zealand and Iran actually holding the advantage over Egypt and Belgium on goal differential heading into round two.
Three experts side with Egypt. Vertelney sees them winning 2-0, arguing that Egypt showed real quality beyond just Salah and Marmoush against Belgium, and that this may be a bridge too far for New Zealand.
Arnold calls it 1-0 to Egypt, while Hernandez agrees Egypt are the better team and will make it count. Yomtov is the only one backing New Zealand to avoid defeat, predicting a 1-1 draw and another hard-earned point for the All Whites.
