Week 12 of the college football season features a packed slate of ranked games with playoff implications. Here are our rankings of the top games.

3. No. 9 Notre Dame vs. No. 22 Pittsburgh

After losing the first two games of the season, many counted Notre Dame out for the playoffs.

The Fighting Irish have not lost since falling to Texas A&M on Sept. 13.

Marcus Freeman’s team has won seven consecutive games to get back into playoff contention. The Irish are No. 9 and would be in the CFP if the season ended today.

For the No. 22 Pitt Panthers, this matchup marks the start of a tough three-game stretch featuring No. 9 Notre Dame, No. 16 Georgia Tech, and No. 15 Miami.

The top of the ACC conference looks like a traffic jam. Georgia Tech, Virginia, SMU, Pittsburgh, and Duke all have one conference loss. With the ACC likely being a one-bid league, Pitt will need to beat Georgia Tech and Miami to give itself a chance to play in the ACC title game.

2. No. 11 Oklahoma vs. No. 4 Alabama

The last time the Oklahoma Sooners played, they picked up a crucial road victory over the Tennessee Volunteers.

After the win, the Sooners had a bye week, which gave quarterback John Mateer another week to recover from his hand injury.

If the Sooners want to pull off the upset, Mateer will have to be the quarterback who played like a Heisman Trophy winner earlier in the year.

Alabama might have the best win in the country — a road win over No. 5 Georgia. Alabama is in a good position for the College Football Playoff.

A loss likely won’t hurt their chances. If Alabama gets past Oklahoma, they close the season with Eastern Illinois and Auburn. Win those two games, and Alabama will be playing in the SEC Championship.

1. No. 10 Texas vs. No. 5 Georgia

The best game of the day will be played under the lights in Athens, Georgia.

The Texas Longhorns entered the season as the preseason No. 1 team. The Longhorns might have been overhyped, especially after losing two of their first five games.

Arch Manning is starting to figure things out, but a road game against Georgia is a different animal.

Texas cannot lose another game this season. They must win out to make the College Football Playoff.

Georgia has some leeway with only one loss.
