Scheffler holds a commanding lead in the FedEx Cup standings and has already secured a spot in the 2025 Tour Championship. However, it’s still unclear whether Cromie will remain on Scheffler’s bag for the remainder of the season.
If Scheffler wins at Caves Valley this weekend, Cromie could earn a caddie’s share of approximately $360,000, a significant payday in professional golf.
Who Is Mike Cromie?
Mike Cromie isn’t new to high-pressure golf. A University of Georgia Bulldogs alumnus and former collegiate standout, Cromie has been Chris Kirk’s caddie since June 2020.
Before turning to caddying full-time, Cromie had a successful collegiate golf career, recording four top-10 finishes in five starts during his senior year, including two eighth-place results and a T5 at the 2013–2014 Carpet Capital Collegiate.
With Kirk, Cromie has been part of a partnership that has earned over $26 million in PGA Tour prize money. While Kirk’s season ended after finishing 51st in the FedEx Cup standings, Cromie now has an opportunity to step into the playoff spotlight alongside Scheffler.
