Netflix has released the trailer for WWE: Unreal, a new documentary series that takes fans behind the scenes into World Wrestling Entertainment.

“When you see the behind the scenes, I don’t know how you can’t fall in love with this business,” WWE’s CCO Triple H says in the trailer.

For the first time ever, Triple H is taking fans behind the curtain in WWE: Unreal. The docuseries explores the creative process in the days leading up to an event. Fans can see how an idea goes from the writers’ room into the ring.

One of the focal points of the trailer revolves around John Cena and the decision to turn him heel.

Cena shocked the world when he sided with the Rock and turned on Cody Rhodes at the 2025 Elimination Chamber. The 17-time world champion has been a face (good guy) for the majority of his career. For his retirement tour, Triple H and the creative writing team elected to turn Cena heel, a decision that’s been extremely polarizing.

The documentary also explores some of WWE’s premier superstars, including Cody Rhodes, Rhea Ripley, CM Punk, Jey Uso, Charlotte Flair, Bianca Belair, Chelsea Green, and Xavier Woods. From road trips and workouts to long days and hard nights, the series will try to help fans understand the sacrifices made by every wrestler to perform on a nightly basis.

Wrestling might be scripted, but it is not fake.

“What we do can become real very quickly,” Triple H says.
